Dolly Sods Wilderness

Known for its rocky plains and its breathtaking scenery, Dolly Sods Wilderness is 17,371 acres of wilderness preservation. Located in Tucker, Randolph, and Grant Counties of West Virginia, Dolly Sods Wilderness offers plenty of opportunities for mountain biking, climbing, fishing, and more. Explore waterfalls and pine plantations located throughout the preservation. Search the forests of laurel thickets, northern hardwoods, and the groves of red spruce trees. Visit the bogs of blueberry, cranberry and moss or enjoy the flora of azaleas, rhododendrons, and mountain laurel. Look for beaver ponds near Red Creek or hike 50 miles of trails made up of logging roads and old railroad grades.
